BTW i just talked to derik again, my good friend whose a state trooper, and forgot to mention a firearms instructor. states they are deffianlty illegal, manufactured or modified. The only way you can legelly poses 1 in nys is:
1) you are a dealer and have a dealer's license.
or
2) you are a sportsman (not hunter)have a sportsman's license, and have to be grandfather'd in (and this is not a guartee) as the laws HAVE changed.

if the laws have changed since 10/04 then i may be wrong......but please list some sources that back this up.
ie:
SOURCES:
New York Consolidated Laws, Articles 265 and 400 of the Penal Law, Article 11 0901, 11-0929 and 11-0931 of the Environmental Conservation Code; Article 26, Sections 396ee and 396ff; Article 39-B and Article 39-DD of the General Business Code.
state trooper derek does not count.
#2......a mossburg curiser pistol grip shtogun is a pump action gun with a barrel length of 18-1/2" and hold 4s rounds in a cylinder chamber. the only thing it has is a pistol grip (1 charateristic) and nothing else. no detach mag, baynote lug, flash hider ect. PLUS IT'S NOT SEMI-AUTO.
if it was ban it would be on the long list of guns of prior post ie: AR-15, FN/FAL, UZI, AK-47 ect. look for a mossburg cruiser shotgun.
again if the laws have changed since 10/04 i may be wrong and i will admit it and bow down like a man. but please list a source.

TITLE P--OFFENSES AGAINST PUBLIC SAFETY ARTICLE 265--FIREARMS AND OTHER DANGEROUS WEAPONS
Section 265.00 Definitions
As used in this article and in article four hundred, the following terms shall mean and include:
4. "Switchblade knife" means any knife which has a blade which opens automatically by hand pressure applied to a button, spring or other device in the handle of the knife.
Speaking of switchblade knife, its nice to used but sad to know its an illegal in our country.

 Re: NYS Firearms Law
I did talk to some of the guys at the Genesee Conservation League when I went for my hunter safety course and they said there was a way around the magazine capacity issue
first, if you have a pre-ban mag you can have one of those
the other way they said is to build the magazine yourself? I wasn't sure wtf they were talking about.
